The UIT AV Technologies (AVT) Group provides full-service AV systems solutions and support; from initial needs analysis and consultation, to formal design and installation, training and ongoing support.

Cardinal Voice Services

We provide advanced VoIP phone systems for university and hospital departments, as well as essential phone and network services for students in campus residences.

Contact Center Solutions

The Stanford Contact Center Solution Service is an essential tool for campus contact centers to effectively manage large volumes of incoming phone calls.

IT Facilities Infrastructure & Resilience

Hosting Services

Responsible for capacity management, rack-level space planning, fulfillment, provisioning, and billing of data center and cloud infrastructure services (IaaS). Lead client engagement, including demand management and project management, for complex data center installations. Capital asset tracking and lifecycle management for assets in UIT-managed spaces, UIT and Business Affairs.

IT Resilience

Leverages collaboration and partnership to support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts across UIT and Business Affairs. Defines procedures and creates tools to minimize the impact of service impacting events. Leads the UIT Department Operations Center (DOC). Manages the Disaster Recovery Plan program, Criticality Assessment program, and Business Impact Analysis program. Conducts the annual UIT Disaster Recovery and SHC/SCH Tabletop Exercise.

IT Facilities Infrastructure

Responsible for providing operational management and support for the underlying foundational physical infrastructure for UIT services; including the outside plant (OSP: including conduit, copper, fiber), inside plant (ISP: including TRs, pathway, copper, fiber, TSOs), and mission critical facilities housing production and development IT systems and supporting infrastructure. Facilities supported include the Forsythe Hall Data Center, the Northwest Data Center and Communication Hub (NDCCH), and nine geographically-distributed Electronic Communications Hubs (ECHs).

Meet the Team

Assistant Vice President for IT Infrastructure

Sam leads the IT Infrastructure team in UIT, which includes enterprise telephony, contact center solutions, audio/visual technologies, technical facilities, cloud hosting, and many essential services for Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health. Sam drives several critical strategic initiatives that substantially impact all of the schools and units, including guiding a strategy for the transformation and modernization of administrative systems that support faculty and oversight of the Google Workspace Optimization project.

Director, Engineering and Operations for Communications Technologies

The Communications Technologies Engineering and Operations team conceptualizes, designs, implements, maintains, and manages communication hardware and software. The team installs infrastructure, provides ongoing support and updates, tests system performance and security, and collaborates with other IT and engineering teams, project managers, and business units to understand communication needs and integrate solutions within the broader IT infrastructure at Stanford.

Director, Audio Visual Technology

Our Audio/Visual Technology (AVT) Solutions team provides comprehensive audio-visual solutions to facilitate collaboration and communication for the Stanford community, both on campus and globally. The team offers a range of services, including tailored upgrades and construction of room systems, audio-visual consultations, design engineering, turnkey installation, and project management. The AVT Operations group also provides post-deployment support and maintenance.

Director, Communication Technologies Service Support

The Communications Technologies Service Support organization supports and expands telecommunication and contact center capabilities for the university and Stanford's healthcare organizations. Daily tasks include adding, deleting, or updating phone configurations; setting up telephony and contact center services for new sites; and managing phone trees, call center menus, and features such as call recording, workforce optimization, reporting, and callback functionality.

Manager, ITI Business Operations

The ITI Administration team is dedicated to supporting IT Infrastructure Services through efficient billing and client support. We handle billing processes and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing. Additionally, our financial analysis optimizes costs and resource allocation, enhancing decision-making.

Senior Director, IT Facilities Infrastructure & Resilience (IT FIRe)

The IT FIRe team manages and supports critical technical infrastructure for the university including mission-critical facilities such as Forsythe Hall Data Center, Northwest Data Center, and the Stanford Research Computing Facility (SRCF), as well as hundreds of miles of outdoor and indoor fiber and copper cables and their conduit.

Director, ITI Product and Service Strategy

The ITI Product & Service Strategy team helps ensure that ITI offers the right mix of products and services to our community. Our service managers maintain a deep knowledge of client business goals, and facilitate the creation of product and service roadmaps. Our business analysts and project managers facilitate requirements-gathering and manage projects that require deep ITI subject matter expertise. The team also helps clients understand and prepare for system or service changes, create SOWs, and work with vendors.
