WebEx Video Conferencing

Attend video conferences, web conferences, and online meetings in real time with WebEx Meeting Center by Cisco.

Important update: All current WebEx users have been assigned a Basic Host license as part of a recent service update. If you require features not included in the Basic license, please submit a request to be assigned a Full Host license.

Get started

Current faculty, staff, and students with Stanford SUNet ID will be assigned a basic license to schedule, host, and attend video meetings when they launch Webex.

For users with advanced needs, a limited number of Full Host licenses are also available upon request.

Basic Host license

  • Unlimited meetings, up to 40 minutes per meeting
  • Support for up to 100 participants per meeting
  • Local recording capabilities 

 

Full Host license

  • Unlimited meetings, up to 24 hours per meeting
  • Support for up to 1,000 attendees per meeting
  • Up to 5,000 participants for webinars
  • Local and cloud recording capabilities 

Data security and storing recordings

Data security

  • Holding WebEx meetings and sharing screens is approved for High Risk Data, as defined in Stanford Risk Classification Guidelines.
  • The option to record meetings (audio and screen interactions and documents) is not approved for High Risk Data.

Saving and storing recordings

  • Your WebEx video recordings should be stored for up to 14 days in the cloud.
  • If you wish to save your recorded video conferences, you should download the files to your local drive within 14 days of the recording.

Deliver hands-on support to clients through live chat, video conferencing, and remote desktop control.
