Accessible PDF documents

To ensure PDF accessibility, the document must be a tagged file with a logical reading order and semantic structure, including proper headings, lists, and tables. Key requirements include providing alternative text for images, ensuring sufficient color contrast, and using selectable text (or OCR for scans). All forms must contain labeled fields and a logical tab order.

The recommended workflow is to generate the PDF from an accessible source document and then use a PDF editor to verify and refine the tag structure for compatibility with Assistive Technology.
