PDF Remediation Platform (PREP)

PREP by Continual Engine is a web-based (SaaS solution) PDF remediation tool that allows you to correct inaccessible PDF documents and generate an accessible version. Visit the Get help section for more information about how to use the platform. Please note, PREP is not a PDF authoring tool.

When the document is ready select export. The PREP Tool will generate an accessible PDF or HTML version that you can download and share.

Data security

This platform is intended for low-risk and moderate-risk data, as defined on the Stanford Risk Classifications page.  There is also a "permanent delete" function to remove your files from Continual Engine's servers.

Get started

The PREP Tool is a web-based SaaS solution that will fix PDF accessibility issues. It is not a PDF authoring tool (such as Adobe Acrobat or Preview). You will need a PDF authoring tool if you wish to make content or structural changes to your document.

1. Visit the PREP Tool Login page and select the "Sign In" button. 

2. You will be directed to Stanford’s Single Sign-On screen to enter your credentials.

3. After authentication, choose the PREP Tool option to enter to the platform.
