Page Title
Every document or web page needs a unique and informative title. This helps users with disabilities confirm they are reviewing the correct information and navigate when multiple browser tabs open. For example, if a prospective student is researching multiple universities, they may have the "Admissions" page for several schools open in different tabs. If all the page title are just "Admissions," it is difficult to differentiate between schools. More descriptive titles, such as "Admissions | Stanford University," help distinguish them.

Page titles should be:
- Informative: Accurately describe page content.
- Unique: Be unique and lead with unique information, followed by generic site or organization references.
- Concise: Be as short as possible while communicating the page's purpose.
| Bad Title | Reasoning | Good Title |
|---|---|---|
| Stanford University | "Stanford University" is appropriate only on the homepage. All other page titles need to be more descriptive and unique. | About Us | Stanford University |
| About Us | Just "About Us" is not enough information. It could be "about" any school or organization. | About Us | Stanford University |
| Stanford University | About Us | The unique information should be at the start of the title, not at the end. | About Us | Stanford University |
