Solution Summary
Work with a broad set of campus stakeholders to identify alternatives for support of a cloud infrastructure service, including funding and staffing recommendations for a sustainable business model.
Plan and develop a service that will offer a broad set of cloud support services — from consulting to full support of cloud environments — to campus departments and users, accompanied by increasing the education and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) experience level of UIT staff.
Specific Goals/Objectives
- Complete a Service Design analysis engagement that supports the design of a client-facing front end experience for the Stanford community and an associated communication/ awareness campaign
- Develop a university spend aggregation strategy for Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Azure that will position us to offer preferred pricing/terms in the future
- Develop a sustainable business model for a generalized IaaS consultancy focused on principal use cases at Stanford
- Complete accounting lifecycle activities for provisioning and billing of AWS accounts updated for BAA terms
