How to Move to Drupal 9

A quickstart guide on how to move and launch your new Drupal site

Note: Stanford Sites Drupal 7 websites must be moved to the latest version of Stanford Sites before June 30, 2022.

How to get started

The June 30, 2022 deadline to retire or move Stanford Sites-hosted websites to the latest version of Drupal is quickly approaching. Websites not moved by June 30 will be taken offline and unavailable for viewing or editing. Follow the steps below on how to move your content to avoid any interruption of service. 

1. Request your website

Give it a temporary name for now; we will use your current or preferred URL later when you’re ready to launch. Something like (yoursitename)2022 or (yoursunet)people.

2. Build and design

When you get the email that your site’s ready, log in and start adding content. Visit our Build and Design guide for tips. You can also attend a training session.

3. Launch

When you’re done moving content and are ready to launch, let us know by filling out a launch request. SWS will take it from there.
