How to Request UIT Services

University IT is currently transitioning the ordering process for University IT Services from OrderIT to the IT Services & Support portal. Visit Where to Order Services to see a list of available services. To learn how this will impact authority, visit How to Request Authority.

Before you begin

To place an order, you will need the Request Viewer or Request Approver role in Authority Manager for your university org or hospital cost center. For more information, refer to How to Request Authority for Ordering and Reporting. For assistance, submit a help ticket.

Note: If you are unable to request a new service, you may need to request new or additional access. Visit How to Request Authority. You can review your current authority at My Authority.

Request new UIT service for Vendors

To request new service, call the Service Desk at 5-HELP (4357) or submit a Help ticket.  Provide your existing vendor account number (if applicable), or one will be created.

Request new UIT service for Residents

Visit the website below to order residential services at Stanford West, Welch Road, University Terrace, and others.

  1. Navigate to uit.stanford.edu/service/residential 
  2. Select your residence, then select Add new service.
  3. Complete and submit the request form.

Request new UIT service for SCH, SHC, University, or Students

Univeristy IT (UIT) services can be requested when visiting the service’s homepage or by accessing the order forms directly through the IT Service & Support portal. Learn more below.

Request new Services from the Service’s Homepage

To get started with a new service, visit Where to Order Services and click the service you would like to learn more about. You will be directed to that service’s homepage, which provides information about the service and how to get started.

Some service homepages have buttons and/or menus at the top that provide a link to an ordering form. Pages without buttons or menus provide information on how to request the service directly on the service homepage, usually listed under the “Get Started” section. 

Below are examples of where to request service directly on the service homepage. 

  • Example of the menu located at the top of the service’s homepage.
  • Example of the “Add/Request” service button located at the top of the service’s homepage.
  • Example of the “Get started” section on the service’s homepage.

Order UIT Services via the IT Service & Support portal

Most service order forms can be accessed directly on the IT Service & Support portal. Use the steps below to guide you.

  1. Visit the IT Service & Support portal and enter “Add” in the search field, followed by the name of the service that you would like to request. 

    • For example, type “add paging service” in the search field.

  2. Highlight the service you want to request and press enter.

  3. Complete all required fields (*) on the form and click Order Now when you are ready to submit the request.
    Note: Required fields will vary across ordering forms. Below is only an example.
