How to Place Calls from Stanford Courtesy Telephones

Courtesy telephones are now available for outbound calling in some common areas of undergraduate residences. Outbound calls can be made as indicated below.

NOTE: Stanford courtesy telephones do not receive incoming calls.

Emergency calls

To reach 9-1-1 emergency services, dial 911.

Non-Emergency calls

To reach a non-emergency operator for Public Safety Services, dial 650-329-2413.

Information calling (calls to directory information)

Information for Stanford: Dial 200
Information for other area codes: Dial area code + 555-1212

Local area calling

Another Stanford telephone: Dial area code + seven-digit telephone number

Long distance calling

Off-campus phones within the U.S. (ALL area codes, including 650): Dial area code + seven-digit telephone number
Calls to Canada: Dial 1+ area code + seven-digit telephone number

International calling

International dialing is not available on Stanford courtesy telephones.
