Jabber for iPad: Installation and Set Up

To install and set up Jabber instant messaging on iPad:

  1. Connect your iPad to an SHC Wi-Fi network. If you need assistance connecting your iPad to the SHC Wi‐Fi network, please call the SHC Help Desk at 3-3333.
  2. On your iPad, tap SHC Apps (preferred) or App Store.
  3. Search for Jabber.
  4. Download and install the Cisco Jabber for iPad app.
  5. On your iPad home screen, tap Jabber.
  6. In the username@example.com field, enter your stanfordmed.org email address and tap Continue. Jabber verifies your email address.
  7. Tap Manual setup and sign-in.
  8. Tap CUCM IM and Presence.
  9.  Enter your SID, SID password, and jabber.stanfordmed.org
  10. Tap Sign In.
  11. If you receive a "Certificate not Valid" message, tap Continue.
  12.  Tap OK when you see "Jabber would like to access your contacts.
