Google Groups Mailing Lists

Use Google Groups to organize mailing lists and more

Do you frequently send emails to the same group of people within the campus community? If so, a mailing list management service can help simplify the process.

With Google Groups, you can request a mailing list and combine all or a subset of your recipient members into one single email address. Those with permissions will be able to send messages to that address, which are forwarded to all members of the group.

Managing your Google Groups mailing list is simple, too. List managers are provided administrative controls, enabling them to add or delete members, assign privileges, and more. You can also set up monitoring to let an administrator vet emails before they go out to the entire group.

Google Groups mailing lists integrate with other Google apps to easily share Google Docs among members.

Compare mailing list options

We offer two services when you need to send emails to a group. Google Groups mailing lists is the recommended service and will become the primary mailing list management service. Mailman is a legacy service. However, certain functionalities are currently only available in Mailman. Compare Stanford's mailing list management services to determine which one best meets your needs.
