Computer Softphone and Video Conferencing Accessories

University IT recommends these softphone and video conferencing options for laptops and desktops based on current state of services available from Stanford.  The recommendations vary depending on the type of use and prices vary depending on the options. While this site is updated on a regular basis, prices and options may change without notice.

The ideal headset varies depending on personal preferences, work environment, work schedule, work style and role. Below is a list of UIT recommended headsets based on cost, portability, usability, and productivity. You can purchase any headset that best meets your needs. UIT will provide baseline support on the UIT recommended headsets and best effort support for all other headsets.


Open work environment

In an open work environment, it is important to have active noise cancellation, passive noise cancellation, and wired headset to avoid having to charge the headset and to avoid running into potential interference in a heavily Bluetooth saturated area.
