Code42 CrashPlan (formerly CrashPlan PROe) is designed to be self-service. You can manage your backups, restore files, and adjust settings by visiting the web interface or by launching the client on your computer.
End-user support for Code42 CrashPlan is provided by individual department IT support staff.
You will need to submit a Request in the following instances:
- You have Protected Health Information (PHI) and you need to let administrators know which computer needs special handling
- You need to deactivate and expunge backups
Ample online documentation is provided by Code 42, the developers of Code42 CrashPlan. Visit support.code42.com/CrashPlan for more information.
Stanford University Libraries makes an eBook available for free online viewing. If you are on campus, or access electronic resources using the SUL Proxy Server, check out Take Control of CrashPlan Backups by Joe Kissell.
There's also a CrashPlan Special Interest Group mailing list for community support. See the Mailman crashplan-sig information page for details.
