IM Training Overview for STAT Members

Situation Triage & Assessment Team (STAT) team members coordinate initial response to an event through a collaboration “room” in CardinalShield, which is behind SSO authentication, that is reserved for use by STAT members only. This room will contain initial information about the reported incident and will document initial decisions made by the STAT. Even if members are not able to participate in the STAT call in real-time, they can visit the STAT room to review the status of the incident, provide input on response priorities through the Chat function in the Cockpit, and track completion of outstanding response tasks.

The STAT/EOC room is the space where STAT members will:

  • Review and evaluate initial incident information and status
  • Determine initial response priorities
  • Determine if the EOC is activated
  • Assign individuals to support ongoing response activities

If the EOC is NOT activated, STAT members will use the space to:

  • Coordinate response and resources until the incident is resolved
  • Track and report incident progress
  • Provide information for the EOC Policy Group, which defines institutional priorities as needed

The STAT/EOC room allows you to see the incident map with updated incident information. The system provides a common operating picture on an incident standard map along with robust tools to track and share incident information, allocate resources, coordinate with university and external partners and prepare incident messaging to the university community.
