Proofpoint URL Defense
URL Defense Brings a New Layer of Email Safety Starting Oct. 28

URL Defense provides another layer of protection against email based threats by scanning URLs in email as they are clicked and intercepting malicious links before your browser displays them.
This feature rewrites URLs in emails to point to Proofpoint's URL protection gateway at urldefense.com. When clicked, malicious links are redirected to a blocking page, protecting you from phishing, malware, and other threats.
URL Defense works behind the scenes, meaning you do not need to do or change anything to be protected.
URL Defense is enabled for all Stanford faculty, student, and staff email accounts by default. However, accounts forwarding Stanford email to external addresses are excepted.
