This live online class examines some of the common challenges involved in remote management and discuss best practices, approaches, and techniques used to effectively manage and guide remote workers and teams.
More employees are now working remotely than ever before, and they are doing so for longer periods, according to Gallup's 2017 State of the American Workplace Report. Gallup consistently found that flexible scheduling and work-from-home opportunities play a major role in an employee's decision to take or leave a job. The number of remote workers is expected to continue to increase in the future.
Being a remote manager or team leader is not an easy job. It can be a tumultuous experience, packed with leadership challenges, demanding a lot of trust and patience. Nonetheless, it's a rewarding experience and can increase worker productivity, reduce employee turnover and boost morale.
Modern technologies and software applications now make it possible for many individuals to work away from a traditional office location. Many successful businesses and organizations are now fully operational with remote teams. This important change in workplace dynamics demands special leadership approaches and managerial techniques to effectively evaluate and communicate with remote workers.
The course identifies the essential managerial and worker skill sets that are required for successful remote performance and explores ways to build trust, enhance working relationships improve communication and overcome some of the difficulties involved with working and managing remotely.
