Training Policies

Course Enrollment Policy

University IT Technology Training sessions are available to a wide range of participants, including Stanford University staff, faculty, students, and employees of Stanford Hospitals & Clinics, such as Stanford Health Care, Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley, Stanford Medicine Partners, and Stanford Medicine Children's Health.

Additionally, some of these programs are open to interested individuals over the age of 18 who are not affiliated with Stanford, allowing for broader community engagement and learning opportunities.

You may enroll in a Technology Training course up to one day before the class start date unless otherwise indicated.

Course Drop Policy

There is a 3-day cancellation policy for all ITS fee-based classes. If you attempt to cancel a session less than three full days prior to the training, you will be charged the entire course fee.

To drop a class using the online registration program (STARS), log into Axess, click the "Training (STARS)" tab, go to the “My Learning” link, and find the class you wish to drop.
Please note: You can only drop for a refund up until 11:59pm THREE FULL BUSINESS DAYS prior to the class.

Classes with insufficient enrollment may be cancelled by the training provider. Should this occur, you will be notified and the fee will be refunded.

Have questions? Submit a help ticket.

Drop-Ins

You can enroll in a class up until the day of the class. If you show up at a training session, please submit a Course Registration Form with the payment information completely filled out. You will need to be completely registered for the class in order to attend.

Waitlist

If a class is full, you can still enroll and be placed on the waitlist. You will not be charged if you are on the waitlist and do not get into the class.

Class Recording Policy

Live class sessions are not recorded to preserve the privacy of all program participants and to promote a comfortable learning environment that allows for free flow of information, exchange of ideas, and open discussions.

Late Arrival for In-Person Sessions

Please be prompt and allow time to find parking and/or classrooms.

After 10 minutes, your seat may be given to someone on the waitlist (if one exists). You will not be charged. If you are more than 20 minutes late, due to disruption of class, you will not be able to attend the session and will be charged a full course fee.
