Effective immediately in response to COVID-19, most Technology Training classes will be delivered online until further notice.
In advance of each session, Tech Training will provide you with a Zoom link to your class, along with any required class materials.
Slack can be a distraction throughout the day, but it can also help you get more done in less time. This session covers time-saving hacks to be more productive in the Slack messaging / collaboration tool.
Slack is a very flexible tool when it comes to customization, collaborating, and sharing.
Launched in 2013, Slack is very popular at Stanford, but many users are not aware of all helpful features to save time.
In this session, we will go over use cases to discuss best practices, including:
- Organizing your channels and direct messages
- The many shortcuts available
- Setting up automated responses in a channel
- Discussing the best productivity apps to integrate in Slack
By the end of this session, learners will have a better understanding of the best uses of Slack to get work done faster, and spend less time in the application.
University IT Technology Training classes are only available to Stanford University staff, faculty, students and Stanford Hospitals & Clinics employees. A valid SUNet ID is needed in order to enroll in a class.
