We are one unified central IT organization that benefits from both a breadth and depth of client services and engineering functions. We will, therefore, organize so that we may leverage common shared processes, while also consolidating core specialized capabilities.

  • UIT will plan and act as one unified department serving all of Stanford.
  • UIT will continue to align processes across the entire organization, while appropriately allowing for the flexibility where appropriate. This will include, but is not limited to:
    • Telecommuting guidelines
    • Title and job class alignment
    • Standard set of recommendations for preferred communication and collaboration tools.
    • Common performance management practices
    • Compensation reviews and salary notification procedures
    • Shared hardware standards and procurement practices based on common criteria and driven by job class and function
    • University-wide and UIT-wide communications
    • Common staff on-boarding process
    • Integrated social event planning and hosting
    • Service award planning
  • UIT will implement common technology and service management frameworks and practices across the organization.
