You may notice a few changes while poking around in StanfordWho, which was upgraded this past weekend to enhance user experience and expand functionality. If you use the StanfordWho mobile app or use direct links to StanfordWho profiles, there are some actions required to minimize the disruption the upgrade may cause.
New features
Along with a slight refresh to the look and feel of StanfordWho, you’ll notice the following changes and upgrades:
- New tabs: easily toggle between search options when logged in
- Departments tab: a hierarchical department directory users can click through
- Enhanced people directory: robust filters to refine search results
- Predictive search: matches will dynamically appear as the user types
- New desktop app: a smoother user experience on any device including mobile

Direct links to listing
If you use any directory listing links (e.g., link to a profile from your website), you will need to update the link. With the upgrade, these links were broken. View instructions on how to create directory listing links here.
StanfordWho mobile app
The StanfordWho mobile app is obsolete and no longer functional. You will no longer find the app in the app store. If you have the existing mobile app, you should uninstall it.
The new desktop app can be installed on any device by logging into StanfordWho on a web browser. Once logged in, you can click the Install app button on the upper right side of the screen. View instructions on how to install the desktop app here.
