There’s a new way to order Paging Services from University IT (UIT).
We’ve transitioned the ordering process to ServiceNow, the same tool that currently powers the Stanford Services & Support portal. With this service enhancement, you’ll also find updated ordering forms. Here are the other changes you’ll see starting Jan. 15, 2022, when you order, change, or cancel a paging service:
- If you’ve bookmarked the Paging Services ordering forms, you’ll need to update the URLs. You’ll find links to the new forms on the Paging Services service page on the top right under “Service Request Forms.”
- Requests for Paging Services will now require approval routing unless the requestor is a student or has the Request Approver role for the PTA/cost center being used for the order. This is because UIT is using the Authority Manager app to manage how employees get authority to place orders and view billing details for IT services. For more information, refer to How to Request Authority for OrderIT and ServiceNow.
Paging Services provides messaging through the Spok Mobile app, as well as traditional paging services for Stanford University, Stanford Health Care, and Stanford Children's Health.
Kicking off a new process for ordering IT services
Although Paging Services is the first UIT service to transition to ServiceNow for ordering, it won’t be the last. We’re working on an exciting multi-year project to streamline the ordering process for all UIT services. Eventually, all UIT services will be ordered through ServiceNow, eliminating the need to toggle between platforms when requesting different services.
