Jabber Softphone Users: Update to Latest Version

University IT (UIT) recommends all Cisco Jabber softphone users upgrade the application to the latest version (14.1) to address a bug some users have experienced.

What you need to do

Beginning on Thursday, April 14, when you open the Jabber application, you will be prompted to upgrade.

To update your Jabber client, please follow these instructions: Launch the Jabber application. If it’s already active, you will need to quit and restart the application or log out and then log back in.

  • Windows users: You will be presented with an option to update. Click Install the update.

    Cisco Jabber window: A software update is available. Cisco Jabber update 14.1 is now available. Please upgrade.

  • Mac users: You will be presented with an option to update. Click Install Update.

    Jabber Software Update window: A new version of Jabber is available! Jabber 14.1 is now available--you have 12.9.7. Would you like to download now?

    When the Ready to Install window appears, click Install and Relaunch.
