Getting Started with Drupal (Lecture)

Are you considering or do you have a Drupal site on Stanford Sites? If so, this session is for you! We'll walk through how you would get started with your Stanford site and explore some tips and tricks.

Learn about Drupal 7 on Stanford Sites.  We will tour several example websites and show you how to get started on your own website.

Topics include:
  • Request a Drupal 7 website
  • Enable modules
  • Create content using Stanford Page and Stanford Landing Page
Other topics depending on interest:
  • Format content using Stanford WYSIWYG
  • Enhance your site with images (Where to get them, Image styles)
  • Learn about styling with CSS
  • Create and place blocks using Stanford Bean Types
  • Stanford built modules:
    • News
    • People
    • Events
    • Courses
Keep in mind this class is a lecture not a workshop. However, we encourage you to bring your laptop and to request your Drupal site prior to class so that you can apply what you learn.
