Slack continues to introduce new functionality and integrations. However, more and more Slack integrations require consistency between campus systems. To meet these requirements and enhance the user experience for all, Stanford Slack accounts need to be registered using an email address in this format: <SUNetID>@stanford.edu. With this change, the information in Slack will better align with the information used for other Stanford collaboration tools.
Upcoming changes
Slack administrators will soon update any Stanford Slack accounts that have been set up with an alternate email address to the required format: <SUNetID>@stanford.edu.
- If your Stanford Slack account uses an email alias, we’ll send you an email with additional details.
- If you have a Base Account, you must update to a Full Account SUNet ID to receive email notifications for your Slack account after the change.
