PeopleSoft Upgrade Impacts Your Access to Axess

Axess Unavailable July 19 to 23
Friday, July 12, 2019

The Axess portal will be offline and unavailable from 5 p.m. on Friday, July 19 until 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, while the PeopleSoft software behind the portal undergoes an upgrade.

Software upgrades are required periodically to ensure that Stanford’s systems remain up to date and eligible for ongoing vendor support. They also introduce components and structures that allow University IT (UIT) to build and release new functions to the Stanford community in the future.

The current upgrade to the Campus Solutions portion of PeopleSoft will not result in any noticeable changes for most Axess users. However, the central Registrar’s and Financial Aid Offices are leveraging a couple of new features – WorkCenters and Activity Guides – that will help streamline their internal work going forward. Additional features in the new version (9.2) will also be explored in the months following the upgrade.

When Axess becomes available again on the morning of July 23, it will mark the culmination of nine months of effort – by groups across Stanford and in UIT – to upgrade this major software system.
