Jabber Softphone Now Supports Multiple Phone Numbers

Has your use of multiple phone numbers prevented you from using Jabber softphone? If so, you’ll be delighted to learn about the new Jabber Multiline feature.

Jabber Multiline allows you to use up to eight different phone lines within the Jabber client. If you use several phone lines for your daily tasks, Multiline allows you to leverage all the advanced calling capabilities, even when you are away from your desk. This enables administrators and others who manage multiple phone lines to use Jabber softphone for their day-to-day communication.

Multiline supports the following features on all lines:

  • Call forwarding and transferring
  • Conference calls
  • Shared line

When using the Jabber mobile application, you are only able to access your primary phone number.

Get started

If you want to use multiple phone numbers in Jabber softphone, University IT will need to configure your softphone for you. To request configuration, submit a request using OrderIT.
