Cardinal Print Mac Authentication Solution Now Available

Earlier this year, we introduced a simplified login solution to address the double login prompt Mac users experienced when starting a Cardinal Print session. Now, we’re rolling out a solution to further streamline this authentication process by eliminating the need to enter a SUNet ID. 

Here are the device requirements for this update:

If your device meets the requirements, proceed to install the update steps below.  If not, don’t worry. You can still download the latest driver and take advantage of the previously announced simplified login solution.

Verify your device meets the requirements

All Stanford-owned devices are enrolled in Jamf. If you're unsure if Jamf manages your device, simply click on the device in MyDevices and look for “Management System" to see if the value begins with “Jamf.”

To check if your device is running a supported macOS version, click on the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen, select "About This Mac," and verify the version matches the latest supported macOS version (currently macOS 12 (Monterey) and newer).

How to install the update 

If your device meets the requirements, you can enable this authentication solution by following these steps.  

  1. Visit the Jamf Self Service app catalog. 
    • Alternatively, you can open the Self Service app from the Applications folder on your Mac and search for “Cardinal Print - Set User.”
  2. Under [SU] Cardinal Print-Set User, click Install
  3. When prompted, authenticate using your SUNet ID. 
  4. The system will remember your credentials for all future Cardinal Print sessions.
    Note: If you type your SUNet ID incorrectly, simply run the program again and reenter your SUNet ID.
