Information Security Office
The Information Security Office orchestrates efforts and provides services to protect Stanford cloud resources. Wiz, the security platform provided through Cardinal Cloud, evaluates cloud accounts and helps account managers safeguard their data.
Hosting Services
Hosting Services provides cloud account management by provisioning, supporting, and billing for IaaS accounts.
UIT-managed
- Client Technology Solutions and Consulting (CTSC): The managed service provider on campus that supports cloud deployments.
- Stanford Research Computing (SRC): Provides a secure computing platform for high-risk and protected health information (PHI) data to facilitate research.
- Enterprise Technology: Provides and maintains information systems that support university operations.

Data Risk Classifications
Approved Stanford environments
AWS, Azure, and GCP are approved for low, moderate, and high risk data.
Data Risk Assessments
A data risk assessment (DRA) must be completed if you are using high-risk data or PHI.
