Navigating Stanford's AI Toolkit: Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini

AI tools are now part of daily work at Stanford, but knowing which ones are actually approved for your data and your task is half the battle. This session gives you a clear map of the AI platforms available at Stanford, including what each one is approved for, and then puts you in the driver's seat with hands-on practice across three of the most widely used tools: Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini.

You'll leave with a working sense of which tool fits which job, plus a chance to practice prompting each one on tasks you'll actually use.

You will have the opportunity to:

1. Identify which Stanford-approved AI platforms are cleared for your data classification, including High Risk data and PHI
2. Practice hands-on prompting in Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini using real work tasks
3. Compare how each tool handles the same type of request, so you know when to reach for which one
4. Build a simple decision framework for matching AI tools to tasks going forward
