Creating Impactful Microlearning with AI: From Strategy to Pilot

Before each live online session, Tech Training will provide a Zoom link for live online classes, along with any required class materials.

Formerly known as: Quickly Crafting Impactful Microlearning Modules with AI

A strategy-first workshop to help participants design microlearning campaigns they can implement immediately. You’ll use AI as your assistant to create a focused, outcome-driven microlearning campaign you can launch on any platform.

Program Description

Deliverables
- Five months of access to the 7taps microlearning creation platform.
- Workshop slides and templates.
- Recommended tools and platforms.
- Participants' microlearning modules for future use.

Objective:
Equip participants with the knowledge and skills to design and implement effective microlearning modules for workplace training or educational purposes. Provide a balance of theoretical understanding and practical application, empowering participants to create impactful microlearning experiences. Leverage AI technologies to optimize microlearning content design and delivery.

Target Audience:
Instructional designers, trainers, educators, and HR professionals.

Learning Objectives

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the workshop, participants will have had the opportunity to:
- Understand the principles of microlearning.
- Identify suitable topics and content for microlearning.
- Create engaging microlearning modules using best practices.
- Utilize digital tools and platforms for microlearning design.

Topic Outline

This session empowers L&D professionals to:

  • Develop a microlearning mindset: clear, focused, outcome-driven design.
  • Build a modular content asset they can plug into any platform (7taps, Google Slides, LMS, email, PPT, etc.).
  • Use AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude to speed up brainstorming, simplify content, and create more relevant learner experiences.
  • Leave with a Microlearning Campaign Planner to help them plan, launch, and iterate a microlearning pilot in their context.

Guiding Principles (woven throughout the session):

  • AI as co-designer
  • Pilot-ready mindset: Learners leave knowing how to test their work
  • Tangible outputs: Learners leave with a usable draft + campaign plan

Session Outline
Reframe: The Microlearning Mindset

  • What makes microlearning effective (and what kills it)
  • Behavior-first vs. format-first thinking
  • Real-world examples of “before/after” microlearning transformation

Output: Participants pick a real topic and apply the “Who–What–Why” filter to clarify focus.

Strategic Design (with AI Support)

  • Explore the learner’s POV: gaps, blockers, outcomes
  • Use Claude or ChatGPT to:
    - Write learning objectives
    - Generate example scenarios
    - Simplify bloated content

Output: Clear, focused learning objective and key content messages

AI-Powered Brainstorming & Template Sprint
Take AI one step further — as your co-creator and layout assistant. Learn how to use tools like ChatGPT and Claude to:

  • Generate engaging titles and campaign ideas
  • Build slide/email/7taps-style microlearning templates
  • Brainstorm real-world scenarios and hooks
  • Reformat bullet points into micro-content “cards”
  • Create reusable prompt-based microlearning templates

    Mini Sprint:

  1. Choose a microlearning format
  2. Prompt the AI to generate a draft micro-lesson
  3. Edit, refine, and structure it for pilot use

Microlearning Sequence Builder

  • Design a short learning flow
  • Use a universal structure that works in any format
  • Add one engagement element (question, challenge, reflection)

Output: Microlearning outline (can be used in 7taps, Slides, Docs, LMS, etc.)
Content Creation Sprint: Build It Your Way
Participants choose the format that fits their workflow:

  • 7taps for rapid visual design and interactivity
  • Google Slides for linear storytelling
  • Docs or email for script-based flows
  • Other tools welcome (This is not a tool showcase — the focus stays on sound instructional strategy.)

Microlearning Campaign Planner

  • Walkthrough of a plug-and-play planner:
    • Target audience
    • Channels & delivery cadence
    • Metrics to track (views, replies, completions)
    • Feedback loop

Output: Participants fill in their Campaign Planner and define their Pilot Plan
Wrap-Up & Next Steps

  • Group reflection
  • Sharing and feedback
  • Resources and follow-up tools
