Explore how to build a private, queryable knowledge base using NotebookLM. Practice uploading institutional documents and retrieving accurate, cited answers without risk of AI hallucination.

Program Description

Many professionals work with sensitive, specialized knowledge that generic AI tools cannot access reliably. This session explores how NotebookLM creates a closed, source-grounded knowledge base from your own documents, so every response is tied to material you uploaded rather than drawn from general AI knowledge. Participants practice building notebooks, querying them, and sharing results with colleagues.

Learning Objectives

Learners will have the opportunity to:
1. Explore how NotebookLM differs from general-purpose AI tools for knowledge retrieval
2. Practice building a notebook from institutional documents and organizational resources
3. Work with source-grounded querying to retrieve accurate, cited information
4. Experiment with notebook organization strategies for different use cases
5. Identify documents in your current work that would benefit from a queryable knowledge base

Topic Outline

Topics:
- What makes NotebookLM different from general AI tools
- Building and organizing notebooks from internal documents
- Source-grounded querying and citation verification
- Sharing and collaborating within NotebookLM
- Use cases for private knowledge bases in professional settings

Tool used: Google NotebookLM
