AppSheet: Build a No-Code App from a Google Sheet

Move beyond the constraints of traditional spreadsheets and build your own custom mobile application. Explore how to connect a Google Sheet to AppSheet's no-code builder to configure input forms, geographic maps, and automation routines.

Program Description

This workshop helps to transform how you handle data tracking by upgrading ordinary, static spreadsheets into fully interactive, mobile-responsive software solutions. By linking a standard Google Sheet to the AppSheet development console, learners will explore how to build a deployable application with secure forms, visual map coordinates, and automated task workflows.

The curriculum details how to properly structure your backend source columns, style app layouts, integrate simple automated email behaviors, and securely distribute the finished application to coworkers. It provides an exceptional path forward for field teams, inventory handlers, site inspectors, and anyone managing real-time data entries away from their desks.

Learning Objectives

Learners will have the opportunity to:
1. Reorganize standard Google Sheets into relational data structures optimized for no-code processing
2. Configure specialized custom application interfaces including forms, data columns, lists, and active map views
3. Embed strict data validation constraints directly into user forms to eliminate inaccurate record entry
4. Set up background triggers to distribute automated notifications or reports following spreadsheet changes
5. Manage user application distribution, security permissions, and live system updates securely

Topic Outline

Topics:
- Principles of backend data engineering and relational column logic for no-code setups
- Connecting your Google Drive data repository to the AppSheet creation workspace
- Building and adjusting application views: Form captures, detail boxes, decks, and dashboards
- Establishing automation tasks, behavioral rules, and custom workflow triggers
- Deploying applications, managing user access roles, and checking synchronization metrics
