Change Lead Times

Hospital Related

Hospital CAB meetings occur every Tuesday and Thursday.  Submit the Change Requests for approval by 2pm the previous day to present change at the hospital CAB.

Lead Time:

  • Change with no expected user impact: 5 business day notice relative to CAB approval 
  • Change with  expected user impact: 10 business day notice relative to CAB approval 

*Hospital Change Requests becomes expedited if submitted for approval with less than the notice times above and require explicit approval from hospital leadership to proceed.

All others

Risk/Impact Approval Required Lead-time
1 - Very High
  • Business and/or Implementation approvals
  • Through CAB

IF NOT EMERGENCY
Ten (10) business days, or as required by an existing SLA.

2 - High
  • Business and/or Implementation approvals
  • Through CAB

IF NOT EMERGENCY
Five (5) business days, or as required by an existing SLA.

3 - Moderate
  • Business and/or Implementation approvals

IF NOT EMERGENCY
One (1) business days, or as required by an existing SLA.

4 - Minor
  • Business and/or Implementation approvals

IF NOT EMERGENCY
No minimum lead-time is required, or as required by an existing SLA.

5 - None
  • Business and/or Implementation approvals

IF NOT EMERGENCY
No minimum lead-time is required, or as required by an existing SLA.

Standard Changes
  • Pre-Approved. No approvals required

Note: Templates must be pre-approved by CAB prior to use.

Emergency Changes
  • Approved by ECAB Approver after the fact
Change Requests is entered after change is implemented and service is restored.
Extended Maintenance Window
  • Follow Risk/Impact Approval requirement

Announce to CAB  four (4) to six (6) weeks in advance of use.
Change Management group to announce to a broader audience.

For those changes not in compliance with the above, the change is automatically changed to Expedited.  If Risk/Impact 1 or 2, Change Owner (Assigned to) must contact University IT Change Management so that appropriate notice can be provided to CAB.

University IT makes every effort to comply with the scheduled maintenance windows.
