UIT Service Rate Changes for FY22

Thursday, July 15, 2021

Beginning Sept. 1, 2021, rates for several technology services provided by University IT (UIT) will increase between 2.5% to 4.5%. The new rates will be reflected in the rates section of the UIT website. Until then, we encourage you to check this page about the fiscal year 2022 (FY22) changes to ensure that you have accurate information for budgeting.

Why are rates changing?

Last year at this time, the university — along with the rest of the world — was navigating a financial climate distressed by the pandemic. In an effort to help ease some of the local impact on budgets, UIT did not raise rates in FY21.

While we remain sensitive to continuing budgetary challenges, several increases in organizational costs require us to adjust our rates in FY22. Many factors affect rate changes, causing increases or decreases accordingly, including:

  • Annual staff salary increases
  • Advances in technology
  • Demand for and use of our services
  • Increased licensing and software subscription fees
  • Operational improvements, such as automation

How can I learn more?

You can find details about specific FY22 rate changes on this page, or view all current rates in the rates section of our website.
