Technology Checklist Supports Your Return to On-Campus Work
With fall fast approaching, it’s getting easier to imagine a newly vibrant campus — re-energized by the return of students and in-person education and research.
If you’re preparing to work on-campus for the first time in many months, planning ahead will help ensure your technology is up and running when you need it.
To help you get started, we’ve prepared a Return to Campus Technology Checklist. This new online technology resource will guide you through a smooth transition back to on-site work. You’ll find the following tips and more:
- Be sure to bring the equipment you need to your on-campus space. In addition to your computer, this may include your monitor, power cord, connector cables, mouse, keyboard, and other peripherals.
- Block off time to get plugged in and re-connected. This is especially true if your equipment has been sitting idle or was purchased during the remote period.
- Check that your software is up-to-date and the apps you need are installed and working properly.
- Keep in mind that technology may have changed while you were off-campus. Try to visit conference rooms and other spaces before you need to use them. Remember to add rooms to on-campus meetings.
Along with our campus IT partners, we’re ready to support you as you return to on-site work. Should you run into issues setting up your devices or accessing the Stanford resources you need, please submit a Help request. We’ll get you connected to someone who can assist you.
