Connecting with your Stanford colleagues and peers just got easier: The new StanfordWho mobile app is ready for download from the App Store and on Google Play.
What can you do in the mobile app?
Current faculty, staff, students, and affiliates with a SUNet ID can quickly access the Stanford people directory using the StanfordWho mobile app.
With the StanfordWho mobile app, you can:
- Search for people by name, email address, work phone, or SUNet ID
- View a colleague's title at Stanford
- Look up a person’s manager and direct reports, if applicable
During your first log in, you’ll be prompted to enter your SUNet credentials and authenticate. After the initial login, you can enable Face ID or Touch ID in the app for quick access without having to log in each time you open the app.
If you have previously downloaded an older version of the StanfordWho app (using Rimeto), prior to December 2021, you can delete that older app. The older version of the app no longer works and is no longer available in the App Store or on Google Play. The now-available StanfordWho mobile app is a replacement for the previous StanfordWho app.
How does the mobile app compare to the web application?
The StanfordWho mobile app uses the same data as the StanfordWho web application. However, there are some differences:
- The layout and presentation of the information are different, allowing for easy viewing on mobile screens.
- Unlike the web application, the mobile app does not have a public view. Access is restricted to Stanford community members. To use the mobile app, an individual must log in with a SUNet ID.
Why the mobile app?
If you use iOS or Android, you’ll find it more convenient to directly access the Stanford people directory in the mobile app.
Plus – quick access to accurate contact details helps information flow more easily throughout Stanford and its affiliated organizations.
