CISG + TCG = CTSC (We’ll Help Solve It)

Monday, April 17, 2023

There can never be too many acronyms at Stanford, right?

Introducing Client Technology Solutions and Consulting (CTSC), a newly formed group within University IT (UIT) Consulting Services. The new team combines talent and expertise from the Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Group (CISG) and Technology Consulting Group (TCG) and is led by CTSC Director Bill Francis. Bringing together these teams allows UIT to better support our clients’ end-to-end needs.

What does CTSC do?

CTSC delivers custom technology solutions to meet client-specific computing and data protection needs. These solutions offer several benefits, including reduced maintenance costs, increased security, and simplified management. To help cut through the complexity, CTSC’s team of experts operates as the single point of contact for all aspects of a unit’s IT cloud and on-premises computing services.

If you’re currently a CISG or TCG client, don’t worry — you won’t see any direct changes to your services (other than the name change).

And more specifically

Count on CTSC to do all the heavy lifting. They continually monitor, support, and optimize every component of your department or team’s IT systems, including:

  • Servers: Windows, Linux
  • Cloud environments: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Azure
  • Data storage and databases: on-premises and cloud-based
  • Network and security: LAN, VPN, IDS/IPS, SIEM, IAM, firewall, antivirus
