Video Conference OS Upgrade

Beginning late September, you might notice changes to onsite video conferencing startup screens, as University IT upgrades the operating system (OS). More than 650 conference rooms will be upgraded to Cisco Webex RoomOS 11 through the fall. Stanford Redwood City can expect to see the OS upgrade beginning Sept. 23. Historic Campus will see it beginning Sept. 30. For larger, more complex conference rooms, upgrades will happen after the initial rollout to both campuses.

What to expect

The interface changes are minor, but you might want to plan to launch your meeting a few minutes early to become familiar with the updated look and features.

Take a quick look at what you can expect here:

Benefits of the upgrade include:

  • Enhanced security features
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements
  • Access to new features and functionalities

The previous OS is reaching the end of support, making this upgrade is not only beneficial but essential.
