Key Dates to Know for Sequoia’s July 6 Launch

Note planned system outages and actions you can take

Many groups across our Stanford community are diligently planning for the launch of Sequoia, our new HR and Payroll system, scheduled to go live on July 6, 2026.

In preparation, some systems and applications at Stanford will experience planned downtime this June when technical updates are implemented to support the launch.

The upcoming move to Sequoia is critical, as it replaces outdated technology with a more future-ready platform that improves consistency and transparency.

Key maintenance and outage dates

To ensure you are ready for these changes, please take note of these key dates when systems will change or be unavailable in preparation for Sequoia's launch.

Note: All dates below are 2026 and all times PDT (Pacific Daylight Time).

June 4-5

  • StanfordYou: Becomes unavailable June 4 at 5:00 p.m. until July 6 Sequoia launch. Learn more about this change.
  • Axess: Some functionality becomes limited June 4 at 10:00 p.m. (Work Agreement, Personal Information, HRS Center for local HR administrators); time card stays active until June 26.
  • Taleo: Becomes read-only for hiring managers on June 5.

Action to take:

  • By 5:00 p.m. on June 4: Update your personal information and emergency contacts via StanfordYou to ensure accurate data is migrated to the new system. Starting July 6, you'll manage most of your personal information in Sequoia.

June 12

  • Stanford Careers: Becomes unavailable June 12 at 12:00 p.m. until July 6 Sequoia launch. A redesigned Stanford Careers will launch on July 6. 

    To support internal mobility, you will have access to the Opportunity Marketplace, an internal careers platform within Sequoia to view and apply for postings.

Action to take:

  • Candidates: Submit applications via Careers for open positions by 5:00 p.m. on June 11.
  • Hiring managers: Connect with your school and unit HR team for specific actions related to open requisitions.

June 19-22

  • MaIS apps and services: Unavailable from June 19 at 12:00 p.m. to June 21 at 10:00 a.m.
  • Oracle Financials services: Unavailable from June 21 at 8:00 a.m. to June 22 at 8:00 a.m. Details about the specific impact of planned downtime and limited functionality for the Finance community will be detailed on Fingate.

June 27-29

  • Axess: Unavailable from June 27 at 8:00 a.m. to June 29 at 8:00 a.m. Affects all of Axess, including connecting systems like Workflow Home - Bechtel visa Workflow; STARS (learning management system); Tuition Grant Program (TGP), and FASA.

    Between June 29 and July 6, some Axess functionality will become limited, including time cards. 

    Note: You can continue to access the benefits and retirement savings portals on Cardinal at Work.

Action to take:

  • By 5:00 p.m. on June 26: All time card entries for the pay period ending June 30 should be entered and approved. This is also the last day to make changes to direct deposit bank accounts and withholding allowances.
