Some important changes are happening in how you set up and manage automatic email forwarding from your university email to a personal Gmail account. These adjustments are due to new security measures being rolled out by Google to enhance the safety of Gmail users.
Stanford Outlook to personal Gmail
If you’re forwarding messages from your university Outlook (stanford.edu) to a personal Gmail account (gmail.com), here’s what you need to know:
-
If you currently have automatic forwarding, there’s no action to take. If you’ve already set things up to forward your @stanford.edu mailbox to a personal Gmail account — you’re good to go unless you want to make a change. Forwarding will continue working as usual.
-
The forwarding setting for Gmail accounts, previously found in accounts.stanford.edu, is temporarily unavailable. We expect it to be available again later this year.
-
If you want to modify your current setting or set up a new email forwarding, submit a Help request.
-
If you’re forwarding emails to domains other than Gmail, you’re all set. You can continue to manage these via accounts.stanford.edu.
