My smartphone/tablet is broken! How can UIT help me?

Tuesday, October 4, 2016

Breaking a smartphone or tablet can happen to anyone. But don’t let those shattered screens, dead batteries, or dysfunctional buttons get you down. University IT offers three options for the times when your device needs repairing.

Option 1: Fixt (NEW service offering)
We recently partnered with Fixt, a new enterprise mobility on-demand repair service provider.  Fixt is committed to providing you with a top-tier experience, a prompt turnaround time, and a standard pricing model.  Fixt technicians will come to your office, home, or other location to repair your iOS or Android mobile devices. Don't replace it, repair it — at a fraction of the cost. This option can be used for both personal and university-issued devices.

Option 2: Apple Care+
AppleCare+ for iPhones provides coverage for up to two incidents of accidental damage from handling. Each incident is subject to a $79 service fee plus applicable tax.  It is at your department’s discretion to cover payment/reimbursements made via PCard or personal credit card. This option is for those with university-issued devices.

Option 3:  Order a ReplacementDevice
Have your Admin/Department Contact place an order in OrderIT for a replacement device. This option is for those with university-issued devices.
