Vision: Business Intelligence

We will continue to evolve and improve our ability to deliver accurate, timely, and useful information to support decision-making.  In FY16, our most critical projects include:

  1. Retire Business Objects (RM3 – EFR)
  2. Deliver P2P Reporting (EFR)
  3. Revenue and Fund Management reporting (EFR)
  4. Historical student snapshots (SIRIS side reporting)
  5. Student Reporting: Phase 2 of the SIRIS Project
    1. The purpose of the SIRIS project (Student Integrated Reporting and Information System) is to implement a university-wide system that will facilitate reporting, analysis and decision-making on all things related to students and their many points of interaction with Stanford.   Phase 1, which focused on data related to enrolled students, was completed in the spring of 2015.
    2. Phase 2 will facilitate access to underlying data and expanded reporting capabilities regarding courses and instruction.  Primary reporting areas fall into three categories:
      1. Course offerings and enrollments, including courses and characteristics, changes over time, course counts, cross-listed courses, and aggregated enrollments.
      2. Student course taking, including profiles of students in classes, student course-taking pathways, satisfaction of general education and degree requirements, and student success indicators.
      3. Instruction, including reports on courses taught by faculty based on appointment type and funding department.
