VMware License Extended to 2017

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

University IT's Vendor Management team is pleased to announce that it has successfully renewed the Stanford campus-wide Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) with VMware for the term of August 31, 2014 to August 30, 2017.

The cost of this new three-year ELA is shared by 11 departments, but the benefits are available to the whole campus. This brings significant cost savings to Stanford as the ELA includes unlimited deployment of vSphere and vCenter Server licenses, production-level support for all installed Stanford VMware software, and a 55% discount for any follow-up purchase for products not included in the ELA. Behind the scenes, it also significantly reduces the administrative and engineering hours needed to manage and track the licenses.

A big "Thank You" to the funding departments!
