IT Open House is a Hit
The 2015 IT Open House drew about 500 Stanford students, faculty, and staff to Tresidder Memorial Union during the four-hour annual event. The crowd came to learn more about the wide-ranging IT service offerings available to them at Stanford.
Presenters at more than 35 booths gave attendees the opportunity to have lively conversations about services offered locally by IT teams in schools and departments, and centrally by University IT.
A handful of IT vendors who partner with campus IT teams to provide services, such as BlueJeans, AT&T, and VMware, enhanced the view of Stanford's broad IT landscape. The day also featured sessions focused on iOS 9 and Design Thinking and Rapid Prototyping, as well as an open forum on Information Security.
Feedback and improvements
Early feedback from attendees identified the event’s top benefit as the opportunity to talk to so many people and learn about IT at Stanford. A common suggestion for improvement was to provide a larger event space.
In response, we have already identified a new location and tentative date for the 2016 IT Open House. Save the date for Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at the Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge (LKSC).
