AMIE Migration to Stanford MyDevices Project

Stanford University requires all Windows and Mac desktops and laptops, as well as Apple and Android mobile devices used for Stanford work, to be verifiably encrypted. In addition to the University requirements, the School of Medicine requires affiliated users to complete an annual Data and Device Attestation to attest to the user data risk level and report devices used for Stanford work. Access to the Stanford network is restricted for users when these requirements are not met.

To streamline support and improve network security across the university, we are consolidating our tools. The functionality previously provided by AMIE is migrating to Stanford's unified MyDevices service. This transition brings a more robust platform, upgraded user dashboards, and real-time security verification to School of Medicine (SoM) affiliates under a unified support model.

Why is AMIE retiring and migrating to MyDevices?

Migrating to central UIT's MyDevices consolidates Stanford's asset security under one platform. It provides a more modern, cohesive, and integrated view of both user and device compliance for the School of Medicine community.

Will my existing AMIE data move over automatically?

You will not need to move anything. Your attestation data will be available in the new system and your device compliance will be automatically detected.

How often do I need to update my attestation?

You are required to update your Data and Device Attestation whenever your role changes, and on a yearly basis.  If you attest that Yes, you work with, have access to, or may receive High Risk Data, then you also need to update your attestation whenever your device inventory changes.
