IT Governance and Engagement

Stanford University is home to the most dynamic, innovative, and collaborative IT community in Silicon Valley and across higher education.

IT Governance

University IT convenes IT leaders across Stanford, provides insight into current projects and longer-term strategies, and supports a Faculty Senate committee charged with formulating technology policies to meet Stanford's academic and administrative needs.

CIO Council

Formed in 2015, the Stanford CIO Council meets monthly and is comprised of the senior-most technical leaders from major Stanford units that manage one or more substantial IT enterprises. The council strives to be transparent by publishing agendas and supporting materials on this website.

Academic Council Committee on Academic Computing and Information Systems (C-ACIS)

C-ACIS shall formulate policies concerning the computing and information systems of the university to meet the academic and administrative needs of the faculty, students, and academic staff.

Campus IT Plan

The Campus IT Plan is an active and working repository of future directions and planned strategies for the Stanford IT Community.

Community Engagement

University IT leads efforts to collect and implement feedback from our clients and community members to ensure we are delivering the best services possible. We engage the broader IT community through programs and events to help staff learn and grow, network, and foster continuous improvement.

2024 IT Client Satisfaction Survey

With this survey, the CIO Council set out to measure current client satisfaction with Stanford IT among undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff. Our next campus-wide survey launches in February 2026.
