Guidance

Use this option when you

  • Want to share work that you have authored and prefer a service built and run by Stanford
  • Are ready to publish your work either globally or to the Stanford community
  • Need a DOI so that others can properly cite your work and so it can be tracked by Altmetric
  • Want to know how often your work is viewed and downloaded
  • Will not need to delete or take down this work in the future

Example Use Cases

  • Research outputs in compliance with funder data sharing and/or public access requirements
  • Data, software, or other supplementary materials that are in a final or completed state and support an upcoming publication
  • Open-access journal articles or preprints, including in conjunction with Stanford's Open Access Policy
  • Student capstone, thesis or course research projects, usually as part of a collection for the entire course or department
  • Collections or series of white papers, working papers, conference papers, or technical reports.
  • Conference materials, such as slides and posters
