Box Migration
This is the second phase of a three-year project aimed at reducing the number of Stanford users and overall data stored on Stanford's Box.com storage platform to ensure that our use remains within the user and storage thresholds specified in our contract. This project covers the final two years.
Building New East Campus ECH/EOC
All conduit and fiber infrastructure will be rehomed to this location. Potential location for new modern EOC to move from the current location of the Faculty Club. LBRE has restarted the project with the following expectations: Board presentation for design/construction approval October 2021; expected construction completion June 2023.
Campus IT Plan
UIT will facilitate the third year of the Campus IT Plan. This is a coordinated effort across 22 campus IT organizations to publish a collection of IT plans aligned to a set of common IT themes. Collect and publish tech council governance roadmaps and unit plans via collaborative planning activities. Plans will be published on the Campus IT Plan website.
Cardinal Cloud Security
A multi-year effort to broaden the adoption of cloud (AWS, GCP and MS Azure) for the campus community. For PY22, three high-themes are being proposed: (1) Cloud Finance, (2) Self-Service Cloud and 3) Fixing the Cloud, Collaboratively.
Cardinal Print

The project will help improve campus-wide compliance with Stanford's security requirements and increase transparency in billing and accounting.
Discovery and Replacement - Modernize e911
New regulations require more precise location for 911 call origination to First Responders. Summarize current and future 911 call location requirements from federal/state agencies. Assess Stanford's technical capabilities for meeting current/future standards. Provide third-party vendor/system recommendations that will assist with meeting regulatory requirements. Assess accuracy of Intrado records. Assist with implementation of new technical solutions.
Endpoint Management
Modernize endpoint management and security systems. This project completes the "integration implementation phase" of the Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) Program at Stanford which integrates UEM with compliance systems and builds the infrastructure that connects to endpoints. These efforts will replace BigFix for Mac OS as the Endpoint Management platform and provide opportunities to reduce licensing costs for iOS Mobile Device Management system.
EPIC EHR Software Integration with 365 Tenant Phase 2
This project will allow physicians to sync scheduled Epic events to their Outlook calendar in multiple Microsoft 365 tenants, providing a single source for their schedule. Complete all required security, contract and vendor processes before proceeding in production. Build out a solution in a multi-tenant test environment. Develop means for limiting application access and automating user lifecycle management.
Graduate Admissions
Completely replace CollegeNet with Slate. The Registrar's Office conducted a discovery effort and determined that Slate meets and/or exceeds their requirements. Slate is implemented across various departments at Stanford (including UG Admissions, Knight-Hennessy Leadership Program, etc) and is well received. This implementation will initially target three departments within GSE, SoE and H&S. (To be confirmed with Johanna.) Support integrations with PeopleSoft and OpenText. Product support will be provided by Johanna's FTE and Slate. There will be an implementation partner to help with the Slate piece, but not covering the rollout planning and change management aspects of the project. Go-Live date is targeted for Sept. 1, 2022.
Health Check Ecosystem, Phase 2
Health Check Phase 2 includes enhancements to the Health Check ecosystem including the PHP web application, ServiceNow administration features for Occupational Health, Vaden and HR, Onsite Roles Administration System, data integrations, contact mapping and exposure notifications, and possibly support for student testing and student quarantining. The scope of the project will be refined as new state, county and university policy requirements evolve.
HIPPA Security Risk Rule Assessment
Continuing a three-year cycle and in coordination with SCH and SHC, contract with the selected external firm to conduct an assessment of the University's compliance with HIPAA security requirements. Develop corrective action plans for any findings.
Implement Cardinal Key Phase IV
Rollout Cardinal Key to ~30K Stanford individuals. All users 'subject to security mandate' in MyDevices are in-scope for this project, with the exception of retired/emeriti staff and faculty. Users with Linux and Android devices registered in MyDevices are not in scope.
Improve WiFi Availability
The FY21 BA initiative defined the UIT effort and cost estimates for Lyman & Munger. Project to proceed with UIT/technology scope once funding for construction scope and physical access is approved.
Integrate Active Directory Facilities Across Entities
Develop a single user identity space in Azure Active Directory to facilitate collaboration and communication between Stanford users and partners located at Stanford healthcare entities. A project to develop a single user identity space, as well as simplify the mail and calendar experience for cross-affiliated users with multiple accounts.
