PeopleSoft Upgrade Scheduled July 5

PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM), the online platform used by the Stanford community in support of all employee lifecycle events including hiring, job updates, time and leave, payroll and retirement, is undergoing an upgrade.

Effective July 5, the upgrade from version 9.0 to 9.2 ensures that Stanford remains on the most current PeopleSoft platform, allowing us to continue to take advantage of new product features. The initial release will include look and feel enhancements for all Axess users, plus a new Paycheck Modeler feature for all employees.

User acceptance testing is currently underway and will continue through the end of June. Additional information about the upgrade schedule and new features will be shared with the campus through notices posted within the Axess portal.

Overall, employee and administrative users will experience very little change in the modules and functions that they use.

System downtime

By scheduling the upgrade over the July 4 holiday weekend, disruption to system users will be minimized. In support of the scheduled upgrade, the following functions and/or services will be unavailable from 9 p.m. on Friday, July 1 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5:

  • Axess
  • BI Reporting for HR, STARS, Time & Leave and Student
  • Faculty Affairs Modules (FAAS and FASA)
  • Nolij
  • PeopleSoft Admin (HR* and CS)
  • RegAdmin
  • Secure Portal

*Please note that the PeopleSoft Lockout for payroll will occur as scheduled on July 1.  HR Webform Originators and Expert Users will not be able to enter transactions from the start of the Payroll Lockout through the duration of the upgrade.
