Stanford Email Slowness

6:00 PM Update

Email is no longer being delayed. UIT will continue to monitor the service overnight.

5:30 PM Update

Stanford continues to experience a slowness in email delivery.

Emails sent from an @stanford.edu address to any destination are being delayed over an hour. Also affected are pages sent from the Stanford paging system as text messages.

UIT continues to work with the vendor to correct the cause, but we still do not have an estimate for restoring service to normal.

4:30 PM Update

Stanford continues to experience a slowness in email delivery. 

Emails sent from an @stanford.edu address to any destination are being delayed between 15 minutes to over an hour. Also affected are pages sent from the Stanford paging system as text messages.

UIT has isolated the cause to a particular segment of Stanford’s email routing infrastructure. Our technicians are working closely with vendor technicians to correct the cause, but we currently do not have an estimate for restoring service to normal.

Stanford is currently experiencing a slowness in email delivery.

Emails sent from an @stanford.edu address to any destination are being delayed between 15 minutes to over an hour. UIT is working with its email vendors to identify and correct the cause, but we currently do not have an estimate for restoring service to normal.
